* HOW WYD AFFECTED ME...

Kat shares some of the ways in which World Youth Day has changed the way she thinks:

During WYD I secured my faith and refreshed my understanding of God. This was made possible by the loving people around me and all the time spent on reflecting on God and in particular, the Holy Spirit. Returning home to England was strange at first and it was tempting to fall back into the daily routine without the WYD experience influencing my life any further. However, the constant reminders of what I had experienced in Sydney were hard to avoid and I knew I had to change and had to share with others what I had learnt.

I now pray more and not just because I have to. I have also endlessly told my friends and family about WYD and the effect it had on me and others. WYD made my Catholic Faith feel more real and I hope I can continue to be a witness to others of God's love.
